Male Pedestrian Killed by 2 Cars in Montclair Oct. 31

Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and Montclair Police Chief Todd Conforti announced today that the Montclair Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force are investigating a fatal pedestrian incident.

At approximately 6:30 a.m. today a male was struck and killed while crossing Bloomfield Avenue near Lloyd Road in Montclair. The victim has been identified as Samson Hum, 52, of Montclair. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:01 a.m.

He was hit by two cars -- a Ford Focus and a Jeep Wrangler.Both drivers remained at the scene. At this time no one has been charged.
